Reviews and contributions to other press
When I’m not trying to change the world, and when I’m not reading beautiful books about place and nature, I love reading, and watching, science-fiction and fantasy. I write book reviews and articles for Starburst, the world’s longest running cult entertainment magazine, they’re great and it’s an honour to contribute to this publication. Here are links to some of my reviews and articles:
- Verity Holloway’s Pseudotooth
- Graphic novelisation of Octavia Butler’s Kindred
- Comma Press collection of speculative fiction meets science: Thought X: Fictions and Hypotheticals
- Introduction to Star Trek: published in collectors’ issue 428
In 2013, my speculative fiction piece ‘Veins that carried blood and water’ won the inaugural Manchester Climate Monthly magazine short story contest. I continue to write short pieces of similar (frankly: dystopian) fiction.
